A development model that respects the land
Green City and Green Village are Fundação Kassumay's two intervention models — one designed for urban centres, the other for rural and island communities — united by the same commitment to sustainability.
Green City
The Green City model applies to Guinea-Bissau's urban centres, promoting sustainable infrastructure, responsible waste management, public green spaces and low-impact urban mobility. The goal is for urban growth not to come at the environment's expense, but in balance with it.

Green Village
The Green Village model is designed for rural and island communities, home to most of Guinea-Bissau's population. It integrates sustainable agriculture, access to clean water, small-scale renewable energy and community ecotourism — creating self-sufficient, resilient and prosperous villages.

Why this model matters
